Hello, Thank you for the information on this site.

I am hoping you may be able to help us.

I am working through a family tree for my parents and my father Thomas McGuigan is the son of Constance (Concetta) DiGorgio born in Baltimore Maryland in 1906.

Concetta always had claimed that she was a relative to the DiGorgio Corp Founders. That Joseph was her uncle. We think she may have been the child of Vincenzo but we really do not have much information because most documents and photos were lost in a fire in the 1970's.

She was married twice, once to Joseph Palmisano (divorced) and then to my grandfather Edward McGuigan in the 1930's.

I know that there is some relation because my father had a small percentage of stock in the DiGorgio Corporation handed down to him and his siblings when his mother died. They had also sent a book to him in the 1980's with the DiGorgio Family History when they dissolved the stock.

We were told stories that she Concetta (Constance) was disowned when she ran off with the chauffeur as a teen.

We think her given name may have been Constantina but we are not sure. I would like to get the proper information for him if possible. He has not been well and we all would like to know his family geneology.

Hi James—I’m so glad to hear

Hi James—I'm so glad to hear from you, as my info on Concetta has always been sketchy. (Might have something to do with being disowned…) I'll send a separate email about setting up an account for access to the genealogy database.

Thanks for connecting, and happy new year!

Good Morning,
Good Morning,
First I must say, you have done a beautiful job piecing your family together. It was lovely looking at the pictures and reading all the information. I’m not sure if there is a connection or not, but I’m trying to put together a family tree for my children. My mother-in-law was Concetta DiGiorgio, her parents were Sebastiano (1887 in Palmemo, Sicilia, Italy) and Concetta (D’Amico) DiGiorgio (1893) and his parents were Vincenzo DiGiorgio (abt 1860) and Francesca Battagio. I was wondering if you had perhaps come across some of these names. If so, you can email me at lightenstrikes@optonline.net. Please have a Blessed Day, filled with new names and connections. To know where we came from helps us to know where to go.

Hi, Susan–thanks for your kind note.

As you saw in the handout, Vincenzo and Concetta are very common names in our branch of the Di Giorgios. But I can’t find a match for Sebastiano, Francesca, D’Amico, or Battagio.

I suspect there is a connection somewhere, so please update me if you find out more.

Happy hunting!
