The Unusual Notrump is normally a preemptive overcall, but why wait for the opponents to open?
Eastern Mysticism doesn’t need 2NT as a strong bid, so 2NT is a preemptive opening promising 5-4 or better in the minors and 5–10 HCP. Partner will show suit preference or signoff in another contract.
